Here at Curious.Earth we are looking for new people to join our amazing team of volunteers.
Our mission is to help people understand environmental issues and their impact, by sharing climate news and actions through our newsletter, website, and social media channels. All of this is done by a dedicated team of around 15 incredible volunteers from around the world.
So if you’re interested in the environment, and have some time to spare, why not join the Curious.Earth family!
You’ll find there are tonnes of benefits to volunteering at Curious.Earth… First the obvious ones – you’ll be joining a team of AWESOME people, and helping to do your bit to raise awareness of the climate crisis and what we can all do to stop it. On top of that you’ll be gaining some great experience which will look good on your CV – don’t take our word for it, here are some of our volunteers who have found that volunteering with us has helped them move forward in their career:
I founded Curious.Earth with Paul over four years ago; at the start I knew a fair bit about sustainability but nowhere near what I understand now! I have made so many great friends and learnt so so much, Curious.Earth has honestly changed my life.
Conrad Langridge – Head of Marketing Spherics Carbon Accounting
I have been a member of the Curious Team for years now and cannot speak highly enough of the support, fun and environmentally-based joy being part of the team brings. I was from a sustainability background before joining, but writing for Curious Earth has made me more knowledgeable on a range of issues (and hone my writing skillz!).
It has also positively benefited my professional career, demonstrating my writing ability, interest in the topic and is also an incredibly useful network for meeting and collaborating with similar minded people! Cannot highly recommend the curious experience enough!
Helen
Being a part of Curious Earth has been an amazing experience for me for so many reasons.
Each member comes to the sustainability table with knowledge from their own area of passion and expertise – from science to policy to startups and everything imaginable in between. It’s so empowering to be headed all towards the same goal, but pushing multiple routes to get there – and I’ve learned so much from my peers as a result!
From a professional standpoint, Curious Earth gave me the opportunity to explore a new career avenue and was absolutely integral to me landing a new role within sustainable finance!

Be Curious – Apply Now!
We welcome all applicants from around the world – we currently have volunteers from across the UK and Europe and even Canada! We’d like to become an even more diverse team and are particularly keen to give a voice to these countries and people most affected by climate change. You do need to be able to speak / write English (of course if you’re not a native speaker we can always help advise and edit), but beyond that our only demand is that you are as passionate about the planet as we are!
Check out the roles you could get involved with, and if you’re interested drop us an email to hello@curious.earth telling us which role you are interested in (any or all!), why you want to join, and any experience you might have (not vital, all we are looking for is enthusiasm!).
Writer / Editor
We publish news articles and feature pieces on our website, which are also sent out in our weekly newsletter. The writers are able to choose their own subjects – anything from extreme weather, to green finance, to fashion! Writers are paired with an editor to help review articles ready for publishing. On average, each volunteer is responsible for writing and editing a piece every 4-6 weeks.
Social media
Our articles are shared across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, along with other news updates and eco-friendly tips and actions. The socials volunteers are responsible for creating graphics and videos, captions, and posts as well as monitoring and responding to comments and messages. Each person spends an hour or two a week on this. We are currently looking for people to help with Instagram (including the inevitable reels! so videographers, now is your time!) and with Twitter. We are also thinking of dipping our toes into the murky waters of TikTok so if you’ve got experience with that then please shout!
Website / Email building
Every week our volunteers are responsible for building our e-newsletter using our easy template software. The newsletter includes our weekly articles plus other curious news we have seen, and of course a hand-crafted introduction to lure in readers. Our builders spend around 1 hour every few weeks on this.
